CHAMBER of COMMERCE 2009 AWARDS - The Innovation and Development Awards for MASTER AUDIO
The Terrassa’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in furtherance of its advocacy to support the technological development, gives the Award for the Innovation, Research and Development to Amate Electroacústica s.l. The award concerns the design and development of a highly sophisticated measurement system that allows getting technical data of the speaker system’s frequency response behaviour in 3D.
The project includes construction of an anechoic chamber of 420 cubic meters, fully robotic to measure speaker systems up to 8000 different positions. One of the most advanced anechoic space and biggest room in Europe in order to reach accurate parameters. This makes it possible to simulate free-field conditions, necessary for a truly scientific and accurate approach to loudspeaker development.
The Innovation and Development Awards seeks to recognize entrepreneurs who contribute to the development of innovative and creative new methods and procedures that make doing products more efficient and cost- effective.
Through the Technologic Center of the Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), was assigned the modeling measurement system from the specifications given by the Master Audio´s engineers. The CDEI (Centro de Diseño Equipos Industriales) is responsible for conducting the mechanical system of measurement. The department CGIP (Control and Management of Production) is responsible for the automation system and designing the user interface. The LEAM (Laboratory of Acoustics and Mechanical Engineering) has developed the system of acquisition and processing of acoustic data.
The aim of Amate Electroacoustica s.l. is definitely technological in a sector with increasing pressure from low-cost products from far-east Asia, or from companies where the advance of new technologies is constant. Only through innovation it is possible provide products with higher added value to end users That means to improve competitiveness of the company as a result of careful organization and right management in innovation processes, certifications acquired, investments in productive systems and R + D + i.
